Bishkek is a crossroads for trans-Asia cyclists, and Nomad’s Home was full of riders who were waiting for visas, getting permits or just wanted some time off the bike. The place was a microcosm of the touring world.

Most bicycle travellers are great conversationalists who are fun to hang out with. But when two braggarts arrived, it was amazing how quickly the guesthouse emptied.
