RTW Cyclists

In the 1990s, Kathmandu was a meeting point for international bicycle travelers. It was there that we met Jan and Marianne, who had just cycled from the Netherlands. They had traveled south via Pakistan and regaled us with anecdotes from their trip.

The previous summer, they had organized a weekend gathering in Holland for long distance touring cyclists. Later, other people took over the organization and formed the club “De Wereldfietser”.

Since they were heading in a different direction, we waved them off as they pedaled out of Patan.
