Guidebooks recommend visiting the Vwaza Wildlife Reserve during the dry season when an ‘abundance and variety’ of wildlife gathers at the lake to drink.
But during the wet season, we had the reserve to ourselves. We spent peaceful days watching hippos wallow and thunderstorms pass by.
