Mission

Livingstonia was founded by the Free Church of Scotland back in the 1800’s. The missionaries came to bring the “Three C’s of Colonialism: Civilization, Christianity, and Commerce.”

They also built an immense church and lavish Stone house to demonstrate the supposed ‘superiority’ of European society.

Nowadays the town feels like an English film set. It’s slightly deserted and decaying. The only people interested in visiting the place and learning about its history are tourists.
